Alice: I can just picture villains forming a union to fight for 'better backstories'—no more tragic orphan clichés, please! They'd probably end up driving their creators crazy with demands.

Bob: The protagonist sits down with their creator and demands closure. "I've been wandering in that cliffhanger for years!" they exclaim. The creator explains that they were planning a sequel. But when the character overhears a side character getting their own spin-off, a rivalry brews. Soon, characters are 'auditioning' to influence the author's next book, with the villains plotting to take the lead.
